Robbie Kicks Off World Tour In South Africa
In the only place not to raise the "sold out" sign within hours of tickets going on sale, Robbie Williams lit a spark under his 2006 world tour with a show in the coastal city of Durban that left the 42,000-strong crowd smitten.
The opening salvo in Williams' global campaign to prove that while he may not have conquered America (that's being left to James Blunt's soft rock), he's damn well king of the pop world just about everywhere else was a two-hour lesson in how to entertain a massed crowd.

Jackson's as-yet untitled album will be his first studio set since 2001's "Invincible," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 2 million copies in the United States alone, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
Many industry observers expected "Invincible" to draw curtains on Jackson's long-time, fruitful recording career with Sony Music when he publicly feuded with the label for its efforts in promoting the record.
Holmes appointment to effectively manage Jackson's career comes on the heels of reports last week that Jackson, in a move to stave off insolvency, has reached a deal with creditors to refinance more than $200 million in loans secured by his stake in the Beatles' song catalog.

For the past seven years, Mark Knopfler, the voice and guitar of Dire Straits, and country legend Emmylou Harris have been quietly working together—who knew? The lead single from their upcoming duet album is a relaxed, romantic folk-rocker with lush guitar licks and soulful call-and-response. Harris' gorgeous voice melts Knopfler's hillbilly coolness as both flash back through a montage of an "old" couple's favorite snapshots. It is a breezy slice of 21st century Americana, uptempo and yet refreshingly unhurried, a simple melody that allows the two veteran voices to be themselves.
